Anyone else get their accounts closed out of the blue? I am in Mexico and they won't answer their live chat and their phone lines are busy. Nice timing on their part, had planned on making a transfer to my bank account this week.

If you try to access it from a foreign country, they will do that.

You have to notify them in advance.

Ahh, nice. This fukkin Bush administration crap has to end. I go to our neighboring country for a couple of weeks and my cards are cut off because of "security purposes required by the Federal government regulations" and now this. Geez, does going to Mexico make you a terrorist threat now???

Bummer-but yeah, I could see that being a reasonable security measure (at least if they were around to fix it!).

Where at in Mex?

You're ok making transactions from books. When I'm in Cyprus I just update my software programs with neteller balance and track it that way.

Obviously no good if you want to withdraw from Neteller etc..

There seem to be some countries they like and others they do not.

When I was in the Bahamas, they locked my account - reopened it with a phone call.

In Italy, they did not do anything.

After 19 minutes on the phone (for 95 pesos or about $9) they agreed to unlock my account, but if I try to access it again outside the US they will lock it up again. They will not let me make a transfer until I return to US soil. So in other words I am going to overdraft my regular bank account because I had planned a transfer around the end of the month. Nice welcome home isn't it?

The guy running the internet place told me to come back tomorrow and we can do something with an IP masker, which will make it appear (hopefully) that I am coming from a US address. What a frickin joke this is, just to acess my own goddamn funds. Screw you in the ass charges and now this, blocking access to my money. Just how many hackers are there in Xalapa, Mexico anyways???

I got locked out signing in from another computer and then from a hotel. Doesn't have to be outside the country.

When I was in Singapore my account was locked out. I got through to a Customer Service lady and she told me it was because I was traveling abroad.

I did a remote-control of a server back in the States to do my transactions from that point on. It also came in handy because ISPs in Thailand won't let you connect to gambling web sites. I had to gamble by using remote desktop into the server at work. No real problem.

Are you saying that US issued credit cards can only be used inside the US?

Bump for Woody--I would like to know too. Not that I have any trips planned.
